Malaipattu Village Ministry: Malaipattu, which is about 50 kms. from Chennai is the new Mission Field identified by our Church. Second Sunday of every month, three villages in the Malaipattu area are visited, and Evangelism work is done, which includes Hindi-speaking people residing in the area. During Christmas time, 60 families were given new clothes, bed sl1eets etc. Regular Sunday School is conducted for children every Sunday.
Construction of new Churches in Rural areas:
(a) A new Church was constructed by our Church at Chithambadi (about 100 kms from Chennai) at a cost of Rs. 60,00,000/- (Rupees Sixty lakhs)
(b) Another Church was constructed at a cost of Rs. 20,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty lakhs) by the Women’s Fellowship of our Church at Uthiramerur (about 95 kms from Chennai). This is the 6th Church constructed by the Women’s Fellowship on their own contribution.
Outreach Visits:
(a) Jeevodaya Cancer Hospital is visited every month. Bed visit personal counselling are made besides helping them.
(b) CSI Anbagan Old Age Home is visited every month. Personal interaction and sharing of God’s words are done besides helping them.
(c) CSI St. Mary’s Chapel at Government General Hospital is visited every month. Special Prayers and sharing of God’s love are made besides helping them.
(d) Women’s Fellowship visit the slum in Satyavani Nagar twice a month and interacts with the people, besides telling the Gospel and praying for them.
Ecumenical Forum– Rev. S. Samuel, our Pastor, initiated the formation of the Ecumenical Forum in the Vepery area in the year 2023. The participant Ecumenical Churches are:
- CSI St. Paul’s Church, CSI St. Matthias Church, CSI Missionary Chapel, CSI St. Andrew’s Church, Choolai, Emmanuel Methodist Church, Tamil Methodist Church, TELC Adaikalanathar Church, Salvation Army, St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church and St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church.
- Ecumenical Palm Sunday Procession: More than 3000 persons from the Ecumenical Churches participated in the Palm Sunday Procession of about 7 kms and distributed pamphlets to non-Christians about the Sacrifice and Life of Jesus Christ, besides singing and floats, for the last 3 years.
- Ecumenical Chain of Prayer: Ecumenical chain of prayer was held for 6 months every Tuesday at different Ecumenical Churches on rotation prior to the previous Parliament Elections.
- Demonstration in Support of Manipur Victims– A peaceful demonstration in support of Manipur Victims was held at Langs Garden area at Chinthadripet. More than 1000 people participated. Mr Peter Alphonse, Former Chairman, Tamil Nadu State Minorities Commission, recorded his protest in the demonstration, besides various speakers. People from our Church and the Roman Catholic Church participated.
Orientation Programme for School Students– About 550 school students (10th Std. & 12th Std.) were given orientation to face the 10th Std. and 12th Std. Government Examinations. 450 students were non-Christians from Government Schools and other schools; mostly slum children. Expert teachers in different Subjects gave the orientation and Examination tips. Examination kits were also given to the students. Special Individual Prayers were made for the students.
