Welfare Programmes conducted by our Church– Several welfare programmes were conducted.
(a) A blood donation camp was conducted twice jointly with the Lions Club. More than 100 people from our Church donated blood.
(b) Medical Camp (General, Eye, ECG, Dental, etc.) was conducted jointly with Apollo Hospital. About 500 persons benefited, irrespective of Religion.
(c) Cancer Screening Camp for Women was conducted jointly with Apollo Hospital. About 150 women benefited.
(d) Poor Feeding on Holy Saturday: Chicken Biriyani and egg were given to about 3500 persons. Street dwellers were brought inside the Church, we served food to them, and we preached the Gospel to them and the remaining food packets were distributed at the Railway Station, Bus Stand, etc. Many poor and needy people were the beneficiaries, besides our church members.
Outreach Medical Camp at Pulianthope Slum Area: About 400 under-privileged persons in the Pulianthope slum area benefited from the outreach Medical Camp at Pulianthope slum itself, conducted in association with CSI Kalyani Hospital.
Outreach Leprosy Mission: As an outreach programme, we visited and helped 60 Leprosy families near Chinglept1t ren1ote area through our Women’s Fellowship. We also proclaimed the Good News to these people.
Welfare Schemes for Socially and Economically weaker people: Welfare Schemes were given to Socially and Economically weaker people, irrespective of religion, at the time of our Church Anniversary.
(a) Blind persons: 20 walking canes, etc.
(b) Differently abled persons: 20 Tricycles
(c) Transgenders (10 families): Cooking utensils, stove, etc. (d) Poor Women: 20 Tailoring machines
Support to CSI Hostels & Schools, periodical help distribution of Dress, Educational Aids, Bags, etc., to
(a) CSI Girls’ Hostel at Kolagunda
(b) CSI Northwick Boys’ Hostel at Chennai
(c) CSI Boys’ Hostel at Cuddalore
(d) CSI Deaf and Dumb School & Hostel at Chennai
Outreach Programme at Maraimalai Nagar for Blind People- Provisions for 3 months at the cost of Rs. 5000/- per family were given to 30 Blind families at Maraimalar Nagar.
Monthly Charity Support to deserving individuals of our Congregation- A sum of Rs. 1000/- per month is given as Charity support to 48 deserving individuals of the Congregation, besides the lunch on every third Sunday of the month.
Education Scholarship to Poor Students: Education scholarship is given to the poor students of Rural Pastorates. About Rs. 5,00,000/- (Rupees Five lakhs) was paid to the concerned School/College/Institution directly.
